BBC - International Solidarity for Women’s Empowerment, Equality & Dignity

“Beyond Beijing Committee Nepal (BBC) is a human rights feminist National Network organization

It has been advocating and working continuously on the Beijing Platform for Action aftermath of the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing since 1995. BBC aims to work towards the civil, political, economic and social empowerment of women and girls to achieve substantive gender equality, women’s human rights and sustainable development in Nepal. BBC has been actively engaging in CEDAW monitoring, ICPD Monitoring, UPR reporting, and MDGs' implementation and currently the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). BBC is a founder of Nepal SDGs Forum (CSOs Forum) and the Convener of Women and Girls' constituency and gender justice theme.  It also functions as the secretariat of the Women Major Group for Sustainable Development in Nepal founded (WMG-SDN) in 2017 ".

Future Focus

  • Continue advocacy on BPFA and Human Rights of Women   for effective implementation and monitor policies and programs.Lunch campaign to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women and sexual and reproductive health and rights in particular
  • Work with allies on Universal Periodic Report preparation laws
  • Work on strengthening capacity of women political leaders for meaningful participation in constitution making and future restructuring of the state.
  • Further expand and strengthen capacity of network members throughout the country to implement and monitor BPFA as a part of Beyond Beijing Campaign.
  • Ensure protection and promotion of SRHR through effective advocacy measures.
  • Strengthen and initiate activities on violence against women.
  • Promote gender equality and empowerment of  women and girls

Involve yourself in social, political and economic empowerment of women and girls.
